Little E not the first driver to leave family team...

Jr.'s decision to walk away from DEI at the end of the season. It wasn't an easy one for Jr.

Do you want to know the answer who left the team in the old day???

It's Richard and Kyle Petty

Both men, at one point in their careers, had to walk away from the race team their father created. Richard's decision to leave Petty Enterprises came in 1983 at age 46, leaving him outside the family fold when he recorded his historical 200th win at Daytona in July 1984. That same year, then 24-year-old Kyle, Petty Enterprises' primary driver, announced he was leaving to join the Wood Brothers. Richard's brother, Maurice, attempted to keep Petty Enterprises open in 1985, but without sponsorship, it was impossible. Both men eventually returned. Richard reopened Petty Enterprises in 1986. Kyle came home in 1999.
Maybe Little E reopen DEI after 2012?
